The International Office at the College of Humanities is holding a special invitational lecture by Professor Sem Vermeersch of the SNU Department of Religious Studies.

▶ Lecturer Profile:
  • -BA/MA (liscentiate) in Oriental Philology (Chinese and Japanese) at the University of Ghent (Belgium)
  • -MA Korean Studies at SOAS (Univ. of London); PhD in Korean History at SOAS
  • -Author of The Power of the Buddhas: The Politics of Buddhism During the Koryo D2 (Harvard University Press, 2008)
  • -Previous appointments include post-doc fellowship at the Korea Institute (Harvard) and visiting professor at Keimyung University
  • -Joint appointment as associate director, Int’l Center for Korean Studies (at Kyujanggak)
