The inauguration meeting of a new IMS meeting series, IMS-APRM (IMS Asia Pacific Rim Meetings), will take place in Seoul, Korea during the period June 28 - July 1, 2009. The new meeting series will provide an excellent forum for scientific communications and collaborations for the researchers in Asia and Pacific Rim. It will also promote communications and collaborations between the researchers in this area and those from other parts of the world.

The program covers a wide range of topics in statistics and probability, presenting recent developments and the state of the art in a variety of modern research topics and in applications. The program includes two Plenary Lectures presented by world-renowned scientists in statistics and probability, sixteen Distinguished Lectures delivered by leading specialists, forty-four Invited Paper Sessions and a large number of contributed talks and posters.

The venue of the meeting is Seoul National University, the nation's top education and research institute, located in the southern part of Seoul.
