The abstract of the lecture is as follows.
Abstract
The Japanese Foreign Ministry recently contradicted Korea's claim concerning the notation of East Sea. Korea claims that the name"Sea of Japan" has spread widely due to the colony rule and expansionism of Japan. However, Japan refutes that when they researched ancient maps, the name"Sea of Japan" was already the dominant name - thus proving Korea's claim to be unreasonable.
What is the relationship between the name"Sea of Japan" and Japanese colonialism? This lecture deals with this problem in depth.
