So-Eun Ahn earned her M.S. in Forest Economics from Korea University and both M.S. in Economics and Ph.D. in Resource Economics from North Carolina State University. She currently serves as the Deputy Director (Senior Research Fellow) at KEI.
Her research interests include the economic valuation of natural assets and ecosystem services, development of multi-dimensional and interdisciplinary methodologies for assessing environmental values, and creation of integrated analysis tools that connect ecology, economy, and society for policy support.

This talk will introduce the national ecosystem and ecosystem services assessment framework based on the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). It will also present integrated analytical results that link ecosystem service indicators with monetary valuation. Furthermore, it will explore ways to connect the Environmental Value Information System (EVIS), developed and operated by KEI, with national evaluation systems.
