This week's Data Science Seminar speaker is Joonho Baek, the CEO of FuriosaAI, a Korean AI semiconductor startup that recently declined an $800M acquisition offer from Meta. He will be giving a talk on FuriosaAI’s journey, as well as the architecture and performance of the RNGD processor.

Joonho Baek studied electrical and electronic engineering at Seoul National University and earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech. He gained experience at AMD and Samsung Electronics before founding FuriosaAI in 2017 to develop AI chips.

In the early days of FuriosaAI, Professor Sangkyun Cha, the seminar host, held many discussions with Joonho Baek regarding the direction of the company.
