[Recruitment] Information Session and Selection Plan for the 2025 Second Semester Interdisciplinary Major in Intelligent Communication

 

Interdisciplinary Major in Intelligent Communication Information Session (In-person)

Date and Time: Friday, March 28, 2025, starting at 5:30 PM

Location: Conference Room, New Media Collaborative Communication Research Institute (Building 132, Room 103)

Pizza will be provided for participants. Please submit the pre-registration form to ensure proper arrangements.

 

Expected Number of Students for Selection

Approximately 15 students per semester (annual total: 30 students)

 

1. Eligibility Criteria:

-Students from all departments (excluding the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department).

-University-wide eligibility: Students who have completed at least two regular semesters and earned 33 or more credits (including those planning to return to studies).

-A minimum GPA of 2.7 (B-) or above.

 

2. Application Process:

Apply directly via SNU Portal (mysnu.ac.kr) under: Academics/Administration > Academic Records > Major/Program Application.

And then, submit “additional documents” to the designated email for the Interdisciplinary Major in Intelligent Communication.

 

3. Application Period:

March 31, 2025 (Monday) 9:00 AM ~ April 4, 2025 (Friday) 6:00 PM.

Successful candidates will be announced by April 18, 2025 (Friday) through the mySNU portal under the Major Application page (“Returned” status for unsuccessful applicants).

The academic status of selected students will be reflected by the university headquarters on July 18, 2025 (Friday).

 

4. Additional Document Submission Instructions:

*Submit the following after completing the application via the mySNU portal (refer to the Interdisciplinary Major website for links to templates):

Transcript (1 copy): Go to mySNU > Academic Information > Certificate > Internet Certificate Issuance > Print and scan your transcript.

-Subjects not listed on the transcript will be excluded from the screening process.

Application Form (1 copy): Use the template provided on the Interdisciplinary Major in Intelligent Communication website.

-Submission Email Address: ari106@snu.ac.kr

-Email subject: “[Application for Interdisciplinary Major in Intelligent Communication] Department, Student ID, Name.” Attach all additional documents to the email.

Note: Failure to submit both the transcript and application form by the deadline will be regarded as withdrawal of intention to apply (applications not submitted on mySNU will also be regarded as withdrawn).

 

5. Major Completion Requirements:

Complete 39 credits from the curriculum (Mandatory: 21 credits, Electives: at least 18 credits).

 

6. Additional Notes:

-Among students in the Interdisciplinary Major in Intelligent Communication, Samsung Electronics scholarships are awarded annually to 15 students (conditional upon employment at Samsung Electronics).

-Maximum allowable interdisciplinary majors per student: 6.

-Maximum number of interdisciplinary majors that can be applied for per semester: 3.

-Students enrolled in 6 or more majors as of the application date: Not eligible to apply.

-Students enrolled in 5 majors as of the application date: May apply for 1 additional major.

-Students enrolled in 4 majors as of the application date: May apply for 2 additional majors.

-Students enrolled in 3 or fewer majors as of the application date: May apply for 3 additional majors.

 For students interested in interdisciplinary majors, please use the consultation services offered by the Major Design Support Center in the Academic Affairs Office (refer to the website for more details).
